Paris Saint-Germain fans finally witnessed Lionel Messi score in Ligue 1, as the league leaders beat Nantes at the Parc des Princes.
It took until the 87th minute for the moment PSG fans worldwide had been waiting for to happen as the Argentinian cut in off the right wing and curled a shot into the far corner in typical Messi fashion.
It hadn’t all been plain sailing for the Parisians though as Keylor Navas earned a straight red card for a nasty foul on Ludovic Blas after 65 minutes.
PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino then brought off the world’s most expensive player, Neymar, in order to replace the dismissed Costa Rican goalkeeper.
Kylian Mbappe had already etched his name onto the scoresheet after he deflected Leandro Paredes’ shot into the net just two minutes into the contest.
Nantes weren’t going to take it lying down though and equalised with 20 minutes to go thanks to Randal Kolo Muani’s fourth goal of the season via a cheeky backheel from close range.
But PSG were soon back ahead as a low cross was unintentionally put past his own ‘keeper by Dennis Appiah.
As Nantes pushed to equalise for a second time, Messi decided it was his time to shine and he produced a moment that the entire Parc des Princes will remember for as long as time itself.
