Paris Saint-Germain was brought crashing back down to earth on Sunday evening as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Monaco at the Parc des Princes.
Mauricio Pochettino started with a strong XI, including Camp Nou conquerors Kylian Mbappe and Moise Kean.
But the champions fell behind before they ever got going. Sofiane Diop was the man who beat Keylor Navas from close range, finishing of a fine counter attack.
Chances came and went at both ends, but it wasn’t until six minutes into the second half that Monaco scored again. Guillermo Maripan was the unlikely beneficiary of a loose ball in the area and the centre-back finished nicely past Navas.
The win is Monaco‘s second in Ligue 1 over PSG this season, having beaten them in dramatic fashion earlier in the campaign.
The result leaves PSG four points behind leaders Lille, with the same number of matches played.
