Popular Nigerian media personality, Nedu Wazobia, has refuted claims that he was dismissed as the host of the widely followed podcast, The Honest Bunch.
Speaking at a recent press conference, Nedu clarified that his departure was a personal decision rather than a forced removal. He emphasized that the show maintains neutrality regarding guests’ opinions and reiterated that he stepped away to ensure the podcast’s continuity.
“Every opinion shared on this platform is the opinion of the guest, not of the show itself, so everyone has the right to an opinion and the right to report,” he stated.
Addressing the rumors directly, Nedu added, “Let me straighten something out. I was not fired from The Honest Bunch. I was never fired. I decided to step away when the attacks became very personal so that the show could go on. I was not fired.”
Allegations and Social Media Speculation
Nedu’s statement follows accusations made by social media commentator VeryDarkMan, who alleged that the media personality demanded sexual favors from women in exchange for movie roles. VeryDarkMan also claimed he had a list of celebrities Nedu had allegedly been involved with under similar circumstances.
Despite the swirling allegations and growing speculation, Nedu has remained largely silent on the matter. When asked about the claims, he stated, “A lot of things have been going on left, right, and center, but I am going to say this: I am not one to indulge in petty exchanges of words. That’s not who I am. It has never been my style, and it will never be my style to trade words with people on social media.”
While the controversy continues to generate buzz online, Nedu’s departure from The Honest Bunch appears to be a move to distance himself from the negative attention surrounding the allegations.
