Two suspected members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, Emmanuel Mba, 31, and Nnam Onukwube, 35, have been arrested in the Awkunanaw area of Enugu South Local Government Area for alleged possession of firearms, ammunition, and hard drugs.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad, following credible intelligence. In a statement issued Sunday in Enugu, Ndukwe stated that both men confessed to being members of the cult, with Mba identified as the head and executioner of the group in Enugu South LGA as of December 2025.
Items recovered from the suspects included one pump-action gun, a locally-made Beretta-type pistol, 31 live cartridges, a large quantity of suspected cannabis sativa, an HP laptop, and a motorcycle.
In a related development on January 31, police operatives raided criminal hideouts in the Agbani area, arresting eight suspects. Subsequent screening led to the detention of Monday Ezeani, 32, after he was found with a quantity of suspected cannabis sativa and 39 pellets of suspected crystal methamphetamine (Mkpuru-mmiri). The remaining suspects were released after preliminary investigation.
Commissioner of Police Mamman Giwa has reassured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, warning those involved in armed robbery, cultism, and drug-related crimes to desist or risk prosecution.
