Nigerian singer Portable has officially rejected the idea of a rematch with Speed Darlington, confirming that the sum of ₦20 million he received from Burna Boy has made the fight unnecessary. The controversial musician shared his decision on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), expressing that he was no longer interested in facing Speed Darlington in the ring again after their recent celebrity boxing match, where he emerged victorious.
Portable made it clear that although Speed Darlington had offered money for the rematch, Burna Boy had already settled the matter by sending him a generous ₦20 million.
In his post, Portable said:
“Joy don come, Burna Boy na odogwu. The money long, Burna Boy money long, them dey tell me before, now I know. Burna Boy don send ₦20 million. I no rematch o.”
He further added:
“The ₦20 million you wanted to use for the rematch, Burna Boy has sent it.”
Portable was also adamant about not wanting to face Speed Darlington again, calling him a “fool at 40” for seeking a rematch after embarrassing himself in the first fight. He even suggested that the money should be used to find another opponent, not Darlington.
“Send that ₦20 million again if you want. I need the money. I can’t rematch, but bring another person, not that fool. He’s a fool at 40.”
