Noni Madueke is a player in demand this summer. Juventus, Manchester United, and Tottenham have been named as among the clubs interested in his services, and PSV Eindhoven might just be at risk of losing him in the transfer window’s last few days.
Madueke, who spent time at Tottenham in his academy days, announced himself in the Eredivisie last season, making an impressive 24 appearances for PSV and racking up seven goals from the wing. This season, he has already managed five goals.
Could Madueke leave PSV this summer?
PSV’s Champions League campaign came to an end on Tuesday evening, with the Dutch side drawing 0-0 with Benfica, seeing them fall out in the play-off having lost 2-1 in the first leg in Portugal.
As a result, Madueke’s future is more up in the air than it likely would have been had PSV been able to offer Champions League football. The youngster went off with 20 minutes to play on Tuesday, and he might well make his next European appearance wearing different colours.
While Spurs, Juventus and Manchester United have been the clubs closest linked with him this summer, he has previously had scouts from Leicester City, Wolves and even Bayern Munich attend his matches to keep tabs on his progress.
Who is Noni Madueke?
A member of the class of 2002, Madueke was born in Barnet, England. During his time with Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino though highly of him but he left the club in pursuit of first-team football and joined PSV in 2018.
He’s naturally left-footed and likes to play on the right, boasting incredible pace, skill and directness, not too dissimilar to Amad Diallo, whom Manchester United signed from Atalanta just last season, and he has drawn comparisons with Arjen Robben as well.
