Nottingham Forest are set to make Premier League history following their decision to sack Sean Dyche. The club confirmed the departure of the former Burnley and Everton manager after a goalless draw with bottom-placed Wolves.
Forest are now searching for their fourth permanent manager of the season, with Vitor Pereira emerging as a frontrunner for the position.
Dyche, who previously served in Forest’s youth team setup under legendary manager Brian Clough, had only been in post since October. His appointment made him the club’s third head coach of the 2025-26 season.
Nuno Espirito Santo, who secured European qualification the previous campaign, was dismissed on September 9. Ange Postecoglou, having ended Tottenham’s trophy drought, was brought in as his replacement.
The Australian manager endured eight matches without a win over a 39-day period before being dismissed. Dyche was viewed as a reliable choice to guide Forest clear of the relegation zone, but managed just 10 victories in 25 matches.
