Zuchu, the acclaimed Tanzanian singer-songwriter, has publicly announced her separation from her husband and fellow artist, Diamond Platnumz.
Sharing the news on her Instagram story, Zuchu—whose real name is Zuhura Othman Soud—revealed that she and Diamond, born Naseeb Abdul, have decided to end their marriage and are currently in the process of divorce.
In her heartfelt statement, Zuchu described the decision as one made with a heavy heart, explaining that after six years together, she felt compelled to prioritize her own well-being. The 32-year-old expressed gratitude for their time as a couple and wished Diamond, 36, and his family all the best.
My former partner and I are now separated and going through a divorce. I announce this with a heavy heart. After six years together, I have finally decided to choose myself,” she wrote.
I wish my former partner, Naseeb Abdul, and his family all the best. For me, this is a time to heal and focus on my health and career. Our journey together has come to an end. Praise be to Allah. We tried, but Allah has His own plans, and I accept them. That is human nature; that is life. Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal Wakeel.
The couple reportedly wed in a private ceremony in June 2025. As of this report, Diamond Platnumz has not released an official statement regarding the separation.
Zuchu’s path to stardom began through her mother, who introduced her to Diamond, founder of the Wasafi label. During her audition, she performed two songs, including a rendition of ‘Wana’, which later became her debut single and secured her a spot in WCB Wasafi.
