The Association of Nigerian Theatre Practitioners (ANTP) has announced that Wale Elesho has successfully undergone surgery to treat a facial lesion

The Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) has announced that veteran actor Adewale Elesho recently underwent successful surgery to treat a facial lesion.

Concerns about Elesho’s health were first raised during the funeral rites for the late Taiwo ‘Ogogo’ Hassan, where many attendees noticed the actor’s facial condition and urged him to seek medical attention, with some suggesting it might require a dermatologist’s care.

In an interview with the BBC, Elesho addressed public worries, clarifying that the lesion was not cancerous. It isn’t cancer.

Would someone with cancer be walking around? I still drive and go places. It’s a minor issue that became bigger because I didn’t seek the right treatment when it first appeared, he explained.

Providing an update on Facebook, Adejonwo Oluwafemi Femson, the national publicity secretary of ANTP, confirmed that Elesho’s surgery was a success and that the actor is recovering well.

By God’s grace, his operation was successful. He is doing well and recovering. Thank you all for the calls, prayers, and concern. We appreciate you. Please continue to pray for his speedy recovery,” he wrote.
