Tony Elumelu reflects on early years with a throwback photo

Tony Elumelu, chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has taken to social media to reflect on his early years with a throwback photo.

In a Twitter post on Thursday, the renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist shared the picture of himself when he was much younger posing behind a car.

In another photo, he is seen aboard a private jet holding a phone with smiles etched on his face.

“How it started… how it’s going,” he wrote in a terse post accompanying the picture drawing a comparison between when he started out as a young man and what he has achieved so far.

He also accompanied the post with a short video clip containing more details about himself.

Elumelu has continued to blaze the trail in the global business landscape with strings of initiatives aimed at empowering people.

The chairman of Heir Holdings has also won numerous awards as well as recognition for his heroics.

In November last year, he snagged the ‘Officer in the Order of Leopold’, Belgium’s oldest and most important national honour.

Elumelu has also featured in TIME magazine’s list of 100 most influential people in the world.

Several Nigerians took to the comment section of his post to commend his contributions to the socio-economic development of Nigeria and Africa at large.

“I celebrate process, consistency, disappointments upon disappointments, waking up and showing up; even when running away looked like an option, hardwork and God’s grace. Thank you for all you do for African Youths. I’m learning! I’m encouraged, sir,” a user wrote.
