Two injured as train rams into vehicle in Rivers [PHOTOS]

There was tension in the Woji area of Rivers state on Monday as a passengers train rammed into a hilux vehicle. According to Dailypost report, incident happened in the early hours of today at Woji railway junction, Rumurolu in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Omoni Nnamdi, while confirming the incident, told DAILY POST that, “Two persons were injured in the accident and are currently receiving medical attention in the hospital.

The PPRO, however, dismissed claims the bashed van belonged to the Nigeria Police Force. He said it belongs to one of the companies in Port Harcourt.

“The traffic gridlock caused by the accident between the train and the hilux van has been cleared and as we speak, there is free flow of traffic and people are going about their lawful business.

“The Command is on top of the situation and we promise to make the state suitable for all to live in,” Nnamdi added.
