VIDEO: Toluwanisings Honoured by Celebrities in Oyo

Bimbo Oshin, Peterson Okopi, and Woli Agba were among the celebrities who attended the night of tributes held in honour of the late gospel singer Toluwanisings.

The emotional event took place on Tuesday at Jogor Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State, where family, friends, and colleagues gathered to celebrate the singer’s life and legacy.

In her heartfelt tribute, Bimbo Oshin expressed deep sorrow over Toluwanisings’ passing. “It is sad. Toluwanisings, we love you. I know you are with your maker, I know you are singing with the angels. May God rest your precious soul,” she said, her voice heavy with emotion.

Peterson Okopi described the late singer as a source of joy who made everyone around him feel special. “We were blessed with a brother, friend, and family member who knew how to make everyone feel special. Toluwani never segregates; he is always bubbly and happy. Anytime you see Toluwani, he just pours joy on you,” he recalled.

Akanbi Elizabeth, Toluwanisings’ widow, struggled to deliver her tribute before breaking down in tears. “Toluwanisings, my dear husband. I will forever miss you. Please do not forget your children and I,” she pleaded.

The event was attended by several notable gospel artistes, including Esther Igbekele, Laolu Gbenjo, Akintayo Akinwande, SB Live, Bidemi Olaoba, Mr Gbera, and Sarah Apekeola.

Toluwanisings, best known for his hit song ‘A Very Big God’, passed away on October 14. The exact cause of his death remains unknown. Lawal Ademola Rauf, the singer’s paternal uncle, has called for his burial to be postponed until investigations into his death are concluded.

Babadunni Gbolabo, Toluwanisings’ personal assistant, recounted the singer’s final moments, stating that he was in perfect health before he suddenly collapsed. Despite efforts to revive him and taking him to eight different hospitals in Ibadan, Oyo State, all the facilities reportedly declined to admit him, each citing different reasons.
