We won’t field a Christian-Christian ticket and vice versa” The APC

Onyeagucha, has gone on the record to say that the All Progressives Congress will not field a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket in 2015.
Onyeagucha, who was the chairman of the party’s state congress committee in Enugu, dismissed reports that the “broom” was planning to field two Muslim candidates for the election, calling them speculation.
According to him, the APC was only intent on “carrying its members along” at all times, and would ensure that all interests were accommodated in the lead up to picking its presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2015 elections.
If we must carry our members along, there is just no way we would field a Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian ticket. It won’t happen because the party’s leaders are aware of the implications,” said Onyeagucha.
We won’t even field a Christian-Christian ticket. Every member must be involved in picking those that would fly the party’s flag at the election and ensure we come out victorious.”
Onyeagucha, whose current day job is as the Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters to Imo governor Rochas Okorocha, also urged the APC rank and file not to allow the division in some state chapters of the party affect overall party sentiment..
In his words, “What is happening is just a passing phase which we shall overcome. All members who came from the legacy parties to form the APC should realise that they must be able to accommodate members who came from other parties.
He added, “Positions from the state to the national levels must be shared equitably between members who came from other parties and the legacy parties like the Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Political Change, All Nigeria Peoples Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance.”
Let’s all watch and see who would finally flag the ticket for the brooms!
