Wesley Fofana suffered a broken leg in Leicester City’s friendly against Villarreal on Wednesday night, following a terrible tackle from Fer Nino.
The Spanish striker, who had himself been caught earlier on the ankle by Fofana, flew into a reckless tackle which left the French defender in agony.
Fofana had to be treated lengthily on the pitch at The King Power Stadium, inhaling oxygen before being taken away to applause.
Fofana later posted a photo and a message on his Instagram page.
Hello guys, many thanks for all your messages,” the 20-year-old wrote
It is a bad day today but I am in a tremendous club with a wonderful medical team.
“I will give you news as a soon as I have a final diagnosis but we already know that I have a fibula fracture. I will come [back] soon and stronger: do not worry.”
