Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has stirred reactions online after revealing that he is open to an open marriage arrangement with his future spouse.
The rapper made the shocking statement during a recent appearance on the In My Opinion podcast, where he explained his unconventional views on marriage, intimacy, and loyalty.
According to Blaqbonez, many married couples experience a decline in intimacy over time, which he believes is due to a lack of sexual exploration outside the marriage. He argued that allowing partners the freedom to be intimate with others would prevent dissatisfaction.
I don’t mind having an open marriage. Most married couples don’t keep the same amount of intimacy they had at the beginning—it reduces, he said.
Blaqbonez added that he has no problem with his wife being with someone else sexually as long as she remains emotionally committed to him.
If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling or on tour, that’s okay. There’s more to marriage than sex, he continued.
