Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro has shared a painful personal experience of betrayal, revealing how a former lover cheated on her and had her forcefully removed from his house while she was living in the United States.
The actress made the disclosure during a recent appearance on the Lone Wolf podcast, where she described the incident as one of the most devastating moments of her life.
According to Osas, she had driven from her location to Baltimore to surprise her then-boyfriend shortly after purchasing a new car, believing she was visiting someone she planned to spend the rest of her life with.
She said she waited at his door for several minutes before he finally opened it, reacting coldly to her surprise visit and questioning why she hadn’t informed him beforehand. Her suspicion grew when she attempted to enter his room and discovered the door was locked.
Osas recounted that when she questioned him, he admitted another woman was inside the room. Moments later, it became clear the woman was pregnant.
The situation quickly escalated when the actress confronted him, leading to him calling security personnel at the apartment complex to escort her out. According to Osas, he claimed he was trying to prevent her from getting into trouble for confronting a pregnant woman.
My whole world collapsed, she said, describing the heartbreak as overwhelming. She noted that she had always been someone who loved deeply and gave her all in relationships, making the betrayal even more painful.
Reflecting on the incident, Osas said she eventually came to see it as a turning point rather than just a loss. She explained that plans were already in motion for her to relocate to Baltimore permanently, a move she later realised would have limited her ambitions.
She added that her dreams were always bigger and global, and that being surrounded by creatives in New York was essential for her growth, rather than settling into what she described as a normal life.
Eventually, I saw it as a blessing, she said, explaining that although the experience shattered her at the time, it ultimately redirected her toward a path that aligned with her purpose.
Osas Ighodaro later married actor Gbenro Ajibade in 2015 after they met on the set of Tinsel. The marriage ended in divorce in 2019, and the former couple share a daughter, Azariah.
