Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Zicsaloma, has taken to social media to call out the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for allegedly refusing urgent medical care to his mother, who is battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
In a heart-wrenching video shared via Instagram, the comedian, born Aloma Isaac Junior, recounted a traumatic experience at the hospital, claiming that his critically ill mother was denied access at the gate, despite her deteriorating condition.
“Do you know when we took my mum to LUTH, the hospital refused to let her in?” he said tearfully. “She’s a skeleton of herself.”
According to Zicsaloma, the hospital directed them to a test centre outside the main premises instead of admitting her immediately. Even after completing the test and returning with results, they were still not allowed in.
He further alleged that when a doctor was eventually called, the doctor walked away without offering help, leaving his mother “lifeless and unable to stand.”
“I literally backed my mum,” he revealed. “Our medical team, the doctors of Nigeria, are terrible.”
Expressing deep frustration with the healthcare system, Zicsaloma did not mince words:
“If somebody is ill in this country, the person can just die… These hospitals, they need to be checked.”
His emotional outcry has sparked a flurry of responses from fans and fellow celebrities, many of whom have called for reforms in Nigeria’s public healthcare system and urged LUTH to respond to the allegations.
