President Muhammadu Buhari will host Niger Republic’s President Mohammed Bazoum on Thursday to discuss insecurity and instability in their region. Both leaders are troubled by bandits and terrorists ravaging their countries.
Mr Bazoum is on a state visit to Nigeria.
Mr Buhari’s media aide Garba Shehu confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the two leaders are expected to deliberate on how best to tackle insecurity and instability affecting the sub-region and the globe.
”While President Bazoum’s visit is expected to last for a few hours, the neighbouring leader will be received with full military honours, including a 21-gun salute. The relations between Nigeria and Niger are considered a true model of interstate friendship,” said the statement.
