The film star made the remark while reflecting on the controversy over the death of Osinachi Nwachukwu, the gospel singer, and cases of abuse in marriage.

Osinachi, aged 42, passed away at an Abuja hospital last Friday.

She was alleged to have been a victim of domestic assault from Peter Nwachukwu, her now-embattled husband.

The singer was initially thought to have died of throat cancer but her associates claim it may be connected to an alleged assault by her husband, who is now being investigated by the police

Her death has reignited discussions on rising cases of domestic violence in marriages.

In a post via her Instagram story, Omotola said the abuses witnessed in some marriages should not be generalised.

The 44-year-old actress said good marriages still exist and enjoined those planning to tie the knot not to panic.

“I know that there are many horrid stories about marriage that screams loud. But I don’t know who needs to hear this… fear not,” she wrote.

“For every bad marriage that makes the news, there are over a thousand very loving and prosperous marriages that don’t.”
