Liverpool fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Alisson Becker is expected to be fit for selection after the international break, despite suffering a concussion during Brazil’s 2-1 World Cup qualifier win over Colombia.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the good news on X (formerly Twitter), stating:
“Alisson will be available for Liverpool after the break, no issues despite head injury suffered with Brazil.”
The Brazilian goalkeeper clashed with Davinson Sánchez in the 78th minute, forcing both players off the pitch. While Alisson has withdrawn from Brazil’s squad and will miss the upcoming blockbuster clash against Argentina, Liverpool have already confirmed his return to Merseyside for further medical checks.
Brazil’s team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, also reassured fans:
“Alisson is normal. He had no memory loss or fainting. He was conscious and oriented the whole time. We substituted him as a precaution due to minor complaints and a potential concussion risk.”
With no serious concerns after initial assessments, Alisson is set to return between the posts for Liverpool’s crucial Merseyside derby against Everton on April 2.
