Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has publicly urged 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to support his upcoming album, The Machine Is Coming, after previously backing Obi’s presidential bid with “sweat and blood.”
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account on April 3, the Abuja-born rapper expressed frustration over Obi’s silence regarding his new music project. He directly appealed to the politician, saying:
“@PeterObi hello Mr. Peter Obi. I support you that year. Oya support me now. Oya do video dey talk ‘The Machine is coming.’ Abeg. Me and you never ever get problem before. Make e no start now.”

In a follow-up post, Odumodublvck made it clear that he expects Obi to return the favor:
“The time wey I support Peter Obi na with sweat and blood. If he cannot give me a ‘common’ tweet, then me and am go fight. I no dey hide my mouth. Make una dey talk una own. The Machine is coming.”
The rapper reminded Obi of how he once took direct shots at President Bola Tinubu in support of him, claiming that the backlash has affected his legacy:
“@PeterObi I even dissed Tinubu for you. Now because of you, the people are spitting on me and my legacy. Tweet ‘The Machine is coming’ to rekindle and redeem our friendship, sir. Do not listen to them. Listen to your heart. The Machine is coming.”
Odumodublvck also issued an ultimatum, threatening to cut ties with Obi if he fails to promote his album:
“Tell that man to promote my album or else I will cut ties with him with immediate effect.”
Fans React: “Is This About Politics or Personal Gain?”
The rapper’s demands have sparked mixed reactions, with many questioning his motives.
@African_unifier: “I know you needed traffic for your new song, but don’t ever try and use Peter Obi to chase your clout.”
@it_Rutie: “Peter can never do this. Don’t you have people who advise you?”
@little_finger_c: “So your political alignment is not based on conviction but ‘you do for me, I do for you’? Na madt you dey like this.”

As of now, Peter Obi has not responded, leaving fans eager to see whether he will acknowledge Odumodublvck’s request or maintain his silence.
