Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Deeone, has stirred controversy following his recent comments comparing Nollywood icon Genevieve Nnaji to rising internet star, Peller.
In an interview with Pulse Nigeria, Deeone boldly claimed that Peller is currently more relevant than the legendary actress, stating her absence on social media as a major reason for her faded visibility.
What makes her different from a normal actress? Peller right now on the social media space is bigger than Genevieve, Deeone declared.
According to him, celebrity relevance in today’s entertainment industry is largely determined by online presence, and Genevieve’s silence has affected her brand.
He continued, If you’re not constantly posting, people forget you. Peller is dominating the internet space, and that matters more than traditional stardom these days.
