Popular Nigerian comedian Damilola Adekoya, widely known as Princess The Comedian, has taken to social media to openly express her frustration with being single, appealing to prominent Nigerian clergymen to help her find a suitable life partner.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Monday night, Princess called on several pastors she follows online, asking them to link her up with responsible and kind single men within their congregations.
According to her, prayer alone is not enough and must be backed up with action.
In this video, I am calling out Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Pastor Phillip, Pastor Jerry Eze, Apostle Selman and Apostle Femi Lazarus, she said.
The comedian explained that she has followed the teachings of these clergymen for a long time and decided to act on their messages about boldness and faith.
I am single, even though I am divorced. I have sent messages to some of you and commented on your videos saying, Help a sister.’ There must be a responsible and kind man in his 40s or early 50s in your congregation, she said.
Princess also lamented that some social media users mocked her for making the appeal publicly, but insisted she was unapologetic about her approach.
We cannot just be praying and fasting. We have to back it up with action, she added.
She further challenged the clergymen, questioning whether it was possible that none of their churches across different branches had a single, responsible and kind man suitable for marriage.
Addressing Bolaji Idowu, Jerry Eze, Apostle Selman and Femi Lazarus, Princess pleaded with them to go through their list of single male congregants in their 40s and 50s and simply forward their Instagram handles to her.
You don’t have to do anything else. Just send me their Instagram handle; I will take it from there, she said.
