Iyabo Ojo slams Baba Ijesha: Don’t drag my children into your issues

Following Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha’s first video interview since his release from prison, actress Iyabo Ojo has issued a strong warning, urging him to keep her children out of his public statements.

Responding to Baba Ijesha’s claims that she once trusted him with her children, Ojo stated that while she has no problem with him telling his side of the story, she firmly demanded, this is a notice to cease and desist from using my children as your cheap bait. It won’t fly.

Ojo clarified that her children have always been cared for by nannies or her late mother and were never left unattended. At my former business in Ilupeju, I had several staff members—stylists, sales reps—so it’s unlikely I would be running errands myself. I could always send a worker if needed, she explained.

While reiterating that she has no objection to Baba Ijesha speaking about his experience, Ojo cautioned him against misleading the public with false claims about her family. “You were a senior colleague and nothing more. However, that 14-year-old was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay, she asserted.

Ojo’s reaction follows Baba Ijesha’s interview with Abiola Adebayo on the Talk to B show, where he alleged his difficulties began after a dispute with comedian Princess, claimed some witnesses later apologized to him in prison, and expressed disappointment in Ojo for allegedly believing the accusations against him—mentioning her children in the process.

Ojo’s statement stands as a firm rebuttal, insisting her children must not be included in any narrative, and underscoring that sexual assault against minors is inexcusable.
