The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed as fake a purported Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result slip circulating online, which alleges that a candidate scored 394 in the 2026 exam.
The result, posted on X, claims that Okon Winniefred Sampson, a female candidate, achieved a score of 394 out of 400.
In a statement released on Sunday and signed by spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, JAMB raised concerns over the widespread circulation of such fabricated information, noting that it is being shared even among otherwise well-informed Nigerians.
JAMB has clarified that the result slip being circulated does not conform to its official template.
The Board emphasized that authentic UTME results are available exclusively through its authorized result-checking platforms, where they are currently accessible in a view-only format. This means there should be no downloadable or printable result slip at this time, casting doubt on the legitimacy of any such document that may be in circulation.
Additionally, the examination body highlighted that the purported slip is presented on a falsified template, which further undermines its credibility.
JAMB pointed out that the registration number shown on the counterfeit slip does not match the official system-generated format, specifically citing the unusual “20269” sequence as a clear indication of forgery.
The Board further noted that several discrepancies within the document render its fraudulent nature obvious at a glance.
JAMB advised the public to ignore the fake result and to obtain accurate UTME information exclusively through official channels.
According to the statement, all UTME results are currently only available in a view-only format.
