Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-time partner, Georgina Rodriguez, were married on Tuesday in an intimate ceremony held in Cascais, a picturesque seaside resort in Portugal.
The football superstar’s representatives confirmed the news, bringing an end to weeks of speculation in the Portuguese media about the wedding’s timing and location.
The event marked the culmination of the couple’s decade-long relationship. Their five children were present for the private celebration, according to the Brunswick Group, which represents Ronaldo’s public relations. The date also held special significance, as it took place exactly one year after Rodriguez, a 32-year-old influencer, announced their engagement on Instagram.
Ronaldo, 41, shared a photo on social media featuring the couple’s hands adorned with wedding bands, captioned simply: “C (heart) G.”
The choice of Cascais followed widespread rumors that the ceremony might be held in either Sintra or Funchal, Ronaldo’s birthplace on the island of Madeira. Reports of a Funchal wedding even drew crowds to the city’s cathedral, though officials there confirmed no such event was scheduled, while noting it would have been “an honour.”
Ronaldo, who played in the recent World Cup for Portugal and now represents Saudi club Al Nassr, is renowned for his illustrious career, including five Ballon d’Or awards and stints at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. Rodriguez, meanwhile, rose to international prominence through her Netflix series, “I am Georgina,” which offers a glimpse into the family’s life of football, fashion, and travel.
The couple met in 2016 when Rodriguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid—a meeting she later described as “love at first sight.” In a 2025 interview with Vogue Arabia, Rodriguez recalled feeling “a sense of peace and an inexplicable energy” with Ronaldo, as if they had always known each other.
Together, they have built not only a blended family but also a celebrity brand followed by over 750 million people across social media, with business ventures that include fashion lines and a hotel chain.
