The management and legal representatives of Nigerian dancer and socialite, Iweh Odinaka (popularly known as Poco Lee), have clarified that allegations of drink spiking are not among the charges currently before a court in the United Kingdom.
This clarification was made in a statement released on Tuesday, addressing the ongoing public conversation regarding Poco Lee’s legal situation.
The statement, signed by Adedoyin Faleye and shared on Instagram, urged the public and media to refrain from speculating or commenting on the specifics of the case, emphasizing that it is now subject to legal proceedings.
We are aware of the ongoing public discussion surrounding allegations made against our client, Poco Lee, which are currently before the courts in the United Kingdom.
As these proceedings are ongoing, we urge the public, media, and all well-meaning individuals to exercise restraint in commenting on the details of the case.
Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been properly adjudicated, the statement read.
The management specifically addressed circulating reports about alleged drink spiking, stressing that such claims are not part of the case before the court.
We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking’ and other allegations that do not form part of the official charges before the court, the statement added.
They further cautioned against introducing details not present in the legal proceedings, warning that doing so could lead to misinformation and unfair prejudice.
Every individual is entitled to a fair hearing and to have their case determined by due process of law, not by public opinion. We respectfully request that this right be respected in this instance, as it would be for anyone else, the statement continued.
According to a report by Gidipoint, Snaresbrook Crown Court confirmed that Poco Lee is scheduled to appear for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026, in relation to an assault charge. This was further corroborated by correspondence from the court’s Admin Team Lead, James Baker, who stated:
Good afternoon. I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th September 2026. Criminal court hearings are open to the public. Precise times and courtroom information will not be available until the day before the hearing.
Earlier reports had claimed that Poco Lee was being held in a UK prison and was scheduled to appear in court in September.
However, the court’s correspondence only confirmed the date for the legal proceedings and did not provide further details about the specific allegations, apart from the case being scheduled for plea and trial preparation.
Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence, and all allegations remain to be determined by the court.
