The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the full restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) following a recent temporary disruption.
This restoration enables institutions to resume and expedite the processing of admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement released on Monday, JAMB confirmed that CAPS is now fully operational and urged all institutions to speed up their admission activities to compensate for lost time and meet established deadlines. The board specifically called on institutions to accelerate their processes and adhere to the agreed timelines.
Candidates who receive admission offers are advised to promptly accept them. According to JAMB, public universities have until October 31, 2026, to complete their admissions, while private universities have until November 30, 2026.
The board also reminded candidates who were previously awaiting results to upload or verify their credentials in light of the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination results. This step is essential to ensure that their credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.
JAMB encouraged all candidates, institutions, and stakeholders to take full advantage of the restored CAPS platform and complete the ongoing admission exercise within the approved timelines. The board expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the disruption and thanked everyone for their patience and understanding.
