Nigerian lawmaker Ned Nwoko has called on the public to give his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, space and compassion amid growing concerns for her health.
Daniels recently revealed she has been battling a prolonged health condition, experiencing severe pain and, at times, requiring a wheelchair.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday, Nwoko urged Daniels’ supporters, friends, bloggers, and social media commentators to show empathy and refrain from adding pressure. “I sincerely appeal to the public, especially Regina’s fans, friends, and those active online, to give her the breathing space she needs—not just for her sake but also for our children, who deserve to see their mother supported and allowed the chance to heal,” he wrote.
Nwoko acknowledged the struggles Daniels has faced, noting that the video she shared on her birthday offered only a glimpse of her health challenges. “This is not a time to judge or vilify her. Now, more than ever, she needs love, support, and the opportunity to recover. Her well-being has always been important to me, regardless of our personal difficulties,” he added.
He also cautioned against the spread of false and distressing reports about Daniels, including fabricated stories and death rumors. Nwoko warned that such misinformation only adds to her burden and threatened legal action against those deliberately spreading falsehoods. “We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels. Regina deserves the opportunity to recover without being subjected to a daily barrage of fabricated stories,” he stated.
The couple’s private issues became public in October 2025 after a viral video showed Daniels in tears, alleging domestic violence. Nwoko responded by accusing Daniels of struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Daniels later admitted to drug use but alleged that Nwoko orchestrated her addiction as a means of control. Nwoko insisted that rehabilitation was necessary for her well-being and for the sake of their two children.
In January, Daniels posted footage from a hospital visit, showing herself undergoing medical tests. Her mother, Rita Daniels, has also recently denied rumors of a reconciliation between Regina and Nwoko.
