Odunlade Adekola has shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to his wife, Ruth Abosede Adekola, reminiscing about the moment he first declared his intentions to her 22 years ago.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the 49-year-old actor recounted how he boldly approached Ruth and expressed his desire to spend his life with her.
“I saw Madam Ruth Abosede Adekola about 22 years ago,” he wrote. “I walked up to her and said, ‘My friend! I see what I want in you. Can you be mine?’”
Adekola went on to celebrate their enduring relationship, recalling how he became fully committed to her two decades ago and proudly referred to her as the mother of their children. “20 years ago, I got fully engaged to my baby, the MOTHER of our KINGS, Deaconess Ruth Abosede Adekola,” he added.
He also praised Ruth as his “number one fan,” reaffirmed his deep devotion, and promised to love her for the rest of his life. The actor prayed for God’s continual favor upon their home, wished his wife a happy birthday, and encouraged his followers to join him in celebrating her.
Odunlade Adekola began his acting career in 1996, the same year he joined the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners. Over the years, he has earned acclaim as an actor, screenwriter, producer, and director in Nollywood. He and Ruth married in 2003, and their union is blessed with four children.
