Afropop legend Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has revealed that his long-awaited studio album, ‘Oldest Young Man,’ will be released on November 27.
Announcing the news on Instagram, 2Baba described the forthcoming album as “timeless,” writing: “The legacy continues. OLDEST YOUNG MAN drops 27.11.26. Timeless music, no expiration date.”
This marks 2Baba’s first studio album in six years, following 2020’s ‘Warriors.’ In anticipation of the album, he has frequently referenced its title on social media. In August, he posted, “I’ve lived it, I’ve seen it, I’m still here. My new album, Oldest Young Man, soon comes.” On his birthday, he also referred to himself as “forever the oldest young man.”
2Baba’s remarkable career began in the 1990s, initially composing jingles before co-founding the iconic group Plantashun Boiz with Blackface and Faze in 1996. Since then, he has become a foundational figure in Afropop, inspiring generations of artists. His discography includes eight studio albums, beginning with his 2004 debut ‘Face 2 Face.’
2Baba’s studio albums:
- Face 2 Face (2004)
- Grass 2 Grace (2006)
- The Unstoppable (2009)
- The Unstoppable International Edition (2010)
- Away and Beyond (2012)
- The Ascension
- Rewind, Select, Update (2015)

Despite the six-year gap between albums, 2Baba continued to release singles and collaborations, such as ‘Balling,’ ‘Kuku Google Am,’ and his recent track ‘Mental’ featuring Fave.
