LeBron James is not hiding his emotions tonight. As the clock struck zero and the Cleveland Cavaliers were pronounced winners in Game 7 of the NBA finals, the athlete was overcome with tears when he realized his team finally won a title.“Cleveland’s long sports nightmare has ended,” ABC announcers shared as cameras caught the player on the basketball court shedding tears of joy. “The drought is over. 52 years, time to celebrate a title.”
When being interviewed after the game, LeBron tried to explain what exactly he was feeling at the moment.“I gave everything that I have. I put my heart and my blood and my sweat and my tears in this game and—against all odds, against all odds, I don’t know why we want to take the hardest road. I don’t know why the man above gave me the hardest road but there’s nothing the man above going to put new situations that you can’t handle,” he shared. “And I just kept the same, positive at attitude like, instead of saying why me? I was saying this is what he wanted me to do. Cleveland this is for you!”
The big win also comes after the athlete promised his hometown that he would return with a championship for die-hard fans who have followed the team for decades.
As soon as the game ended, several celebrities showed their support for LeBron and his team on social media.
