Jorge Sampaoli confirmed as new Sevilla coach

Following the departure to Paris Saint-Germain of Unai Emery, Sevilla have now confirmed that Jorge Sampaoli will become their new coach on a two-year contract.

After Laurent Blanc’s exit from the French side, Emery cut his ties with the Andalusians in order to fill the coaching role in the French capital.Sampaoli, news of whose signing was broken in a MARCA exclusive, is due to land in Seville on Sunday.

Juan Manuel Lillo, who will serve as his number two – as he did with the Chile national team – arrives on Saturday, with the pair beginning their work on Monday.The club paid tribute to their outgoing coach with a farewell message.
