Wolfsburg Unveil Victor Osimhen

Top German side VFL Wolfsburg have unveiled their Nigerian Striker Victor Osimhen as he is finally set to begin his Bundesliga career
German club Wolfsburg agreed a deal back in January 2016 to sign the young Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on 1 January 2017 as Osimhen was not eligible to sign professional contract until he turns 18, on 29 December 2016 Under Fifa regulations.

Now that the U17 world cup winner has turned 18 they have officially announced the signing of their prized asset who has been training with their teams and even scored a goal in an exhibition game

Osimhen has rejoined the team as Wolves began their preparations for the first game of the New Year against Hamburger SV on Saturday, January 21st and has travelled with them to La Manga, Spain for their winter training camp where they will play friendly games against SC Heerenveen, ES Sétif , FC Sion and SV Sandhausen in the Florida cup .

It is not yet clear however how soon Osimhen will be able to play for his new club as he has so far sat out training due to him not being a 100% fit having had a meniscus surgery in November.

“He still has a bit of pain,” said VfL-Sportchef Olaf Rebbe, to Sportbuzzer “but it will be. Victor has travelled with us and is supposed to train with the team as quickly as possible. “” We all know what he can do, and that’s something you can see in practice. However, you can not expect too much, after all Victor is only 18 years old, “Rebbe continued.

Osimhen starred at the under-17 World Cup in October, scoring 10 goals to help Nigeria win a record fifth title and was also part of the Nigeria side that won the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal in November 2016
