Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota has died in a car crash in Spain, just two weeks after getting married.
Read more: BREAKING: Liverpool star, Diogo Jota dies in car crashThe 28-year-old forward died in an accident on the A-52 road near the town of Zamora. Reports in Spain say he was in the car with his brother, Andre, who is also a footballer, when the car went off the road and caught fire.
Jota joined Liverpool in 2020 from Wolverhampton for €44.7 million. Since then, he played 182 matches, scored 65 goals, and made 26 assists.
During his time at Liverpool, he won three trophies: the Premier League title in 2024-25, the FA Cup in 2021-22, and the League Cup in 2021-22.
