Bukky Wright has opened up about the deeply personal reasons behind her decision to join the Nigerian film industry.
Read more: Bukky Wright: My Journey into ActingSpeaking during a recent panel session in Lagos, the acclaimed actress revealed that her motivation for pursuing acting was not fame, but a desire to reconnect with her children. Wright explained that after marrying into a wealthy family, her young children were taken from her, as her in-laws doubted she would achieve anything significant in life.
I actually started acting so that when my children grow up, they would be able to know where to find me. I never thought of becoming a star, she shared.
Despite the challenges and painful experiences of her early years, Wright expressed pride in how her journey has unfolded, saying, And here I am today!
Wright began her acting career in 1996 and has since become a household name in Nollywood. She has starred in numerous Yoruba and English-language films, including Wale Adenuga’s TV series Super Story, as well as Saworo Ide, Omotara Johnson, Red Circle, and Aso Ebi Diaries.
