Best known as the longtime host of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (WWTBAM)’, Edoho has recently faced public scrutiny over details of his marital history. He was married to broadcaster Katherine Obiang from 2003 until 2010, a union that produced three children but ended after seven years. In 2013, Edoho married Sandra Onyenucheya, with whom he welcomed two children in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

Last year, Edoho revealed that his second marriage had ended in December 2022—a development he described as devastating. Since then, he has publicly stated that he will never commit to one woman again, and recently shared that he is gradually moving on from the experience.

Amid the separation, rumours circulated alleging infidelity on Sandra’s part with a Nigerian singer. Sandra, however, refuted the claims and accused Edoho of engaging in multiple affairs during their marriage, naming several women with whom he was allegedly involved.

In a conversation on the ‘Outside the Box’ podcast, Edoho disclosed that he endured a private, two-year period of profound sadness following his divorce. He chose isolation as a means to reorganize his life, keeping his struggles hidden even from friends.

For a couple of years, I was in a very dark place, but no one knew, he said. I couldn’t call anyone. I just told myself, ‘This is a journey I have to take alone to put myself back together.’ I’m glad I did, though at the time, it felt like the walls were closing in.

Reflecting on his own mortality, Edoho shared his hope that his legacy will not be defined by his relationships with women. I don’t want to reach the gates of heaven and be asked what killed me, only for the answer to be ‘a woman’—whether that’s my daughter, my wife, or my mother. I don’t want that to be my exit from this world, he said.

I want to die with a smile, knowing I tried to bring joy to everyone I met, and that my only regret is wishing I had done more good—not wishing I had more time.
