Afrobeats sensation Davido has shared personal details about his family life and career expansion, revealing that he and his wife, Chioma, are taking a break from having more children for now.
In a recent chat on Ride Along With Darryl, the singer explained the decision was made so Chioma can focus on her dreams, especially after welcoming twins in 2023, just a year after the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi.
“I don’t want more children now. Me and my wife are taking a break,” Davido said.
“She wants to open her restaurant and launch her own spices. I feel she deserves a couple of years off after having three kids.”
Davido also shared exciting plans to dive into Africa’s film industry, revealing he’s currently investing in several movie and series projects in collaboration with his longtime video director, Dammy Twitch.
“I can also act. I can act for real,” he said, citing his performances in music videos like ‘Jowo’ and ‘Nwa Baby’ as proof.
Addressing the state of the film industry on the continent, he didn’t mince words:
“The film space right now in Africa is going bankrupt. So, we are definitely going to tap into that.”
From hit records to acting roles and now film investments, Davido continues to evolve, making it clear he’s just getting started both as a global entertainer and as a visionary entrepreneur.
