Manchester United have identified Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze as a top transfer target this summer, with Marcus Rashford potentially playing a pivotal role in securing the deal.
According to The Sun, manager Ruben Amorim is preparing for a major shake-up at Old Trafford, with United reportedly eyeing a £200 million war chest after player sales. Eze, known for his flair and creativity, is seen as a perfect fit for Amorim’s tactical blueprint.
However, Aston Villa are also in the race for the England international, and that’s where Rashford’s role comes in. Villa are interested in keeping Rashford, currently on loan, and United could offer him in a swap-plus-cash deal for Ollie Watkins. If that move materialises, it would reduce Villa’s interest in Eze, clearing the path for United to sign him with less competition.
The deal could represent a win-win for all parties, but United must still close out their season strong starting with their upcoming clash against Wolves on Sunday before fully turning their attention to the transfer market.
