In June 2018, rapper XXXTentacion was killed during a robbery and his assailants, Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome and Dedrick Williams are accused of shooting him outside a motorcycle store in Florida. But their lawyers suggest that a rap superstar could be involved in the crime.

The rapper warned on social media that if he died, it would be Drake’s fault
Lawyers for the three defendants argue that when the initial investigations were made, the feud between XXXTentacion and Drake was not taken into account.
In fact, the 20-year-old rapper, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, once posted on social media that if he ended up dead one day, Drake would be responsible. Although he later retracted that accusation, lawyers now take as a motive the problem between the two artists to suggest that Drake could be behind the murder.
However, prosecutors claim that the shooting in which XXXTentacion lost his life was a robbery that got out of control and that there is no evidence linking Drake to the incident.

Prosecutors say it was a robbery gone wrong
The three defendants are accused of wanting to rob the Riva Motorsports store on June 18, 2018, and that when the young rapper left the store in his BMW, between the three of them they cut him off with the intention of robbing him.
The prosecution claims that the trio took $50,000 that the rapper had in a bag before Boatwright shot him multiple times “without any provocation,” he said.
If found guilty of first-degree murder, Boatwright, 28, Williams, 26, and Newsome, 24, would face life in prison.
