The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, July 17 and Monday, July 20 as public holidays to mark the end of Ramadan, known as Eid al-Fitr.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji, stated this in Abuja on Tuesday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
He enjoined all Muslims and Nigerians in general to extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which include love, peace and sacrifice for the development of the nation.
He further urged all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the nation, wishing Nigerians a happy and joyous celebration.
Magaji however urged Nigerians to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari “in its determination and sustained efforts towards building a peaceful, united and virile nation.”
