The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested Akaninyene Udo, a resident of Akpautong in Esit Eket Local Government Area, for allegedly spreading a false security alert on social media that caused widespread panic among residents.

According to a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Timfon John, Udo posted a warning on his Facebook page, under the name AK PHILO, claiming that Boko Haram bandits were planning to invade Eket and urging residents to prepare for an attack.
