On October 8th, following his takeover of Twitter, Elon Musk gleefully tweeted: “Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!”. The message was a reply to Kanye West, who had been previously booted from the platform for his infamous “Def Con 3 on Jews” tweet. Now, less than two months later, the social network’s new CEO has kicked him off again.
How did it happen? Elon Musk has always been openly proud of his friendship with Kanye, assuring he took his previous mistakes “to heart” before his reinstatement. Also, the Tesla mogul assured only people breaking the law would be banned from the platform.
Elon and Kanye’s falling out: a story of several parts
FAFO
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 2, 2022
The explanation has several parts, and it can all be summed up with an acronym Musk tweeted after everything happened: FAFO (which stands for ‘fu*k around and find out).
After Kanye’s most volatile day ever in which he admitted to being a Nazi sympathizer and “liking” Hitler in an InfoWars interview, the anti-Semitic producer began erratically tweeting.
Kanye just posted MOREq screenshots of his text convo with Elon on Truth Social (lmao), including a screenshot from Twitter saying he's banned from tweeting for the next 12 hours pic.twitter.com/2VaZhl6yAH

Kanye shared a logo of a swastika inside a star of David
What followed were two tweets that sent Elon Musk over the edge. The first, a logo of a Jewish star of David embedded with a swastika.
Horrifying – a swastika embedded within a Jewish star.
Does Kanye West have to physically hurt a Jewish person before you act @elonmusk? pic.twitter.com/VUs1MdhK4o

Musk tried to solve the situation privately
The image prompted Musk to reach out privately to Kanye and tell him “Sorry but this is not love, you have gone too far.” As shown in text messages revealed by the Chi-town producer.
West then defiantly replied: “Who made you the judge?” To which Elon Musk replied with The Lords Prayer: “Our Father who art in Heaven…”

Ye shared one of Elon Musk’s most embarrassing photos
At that moment, Kanye ended the conversation with “I’m Jesus name”, and then proceeded to say his goodbyes to his Twitter followers, knewing what was coming: “We had a good run”
Ye then shared one of the photos that Elon Musk tried having scrubbed from the internet: of the mogul, pale and overweight, vacationing on a yacht in Mykonos and being hosed down by a male friend. He did so with the following caption: “Let’s always remember this as my final tweet #ye24”.
