Femi Adebayo Unveils Plans for ‘Seven Doors’ Sequel

Femi Adebayo, renowned Nollywood actor and producer, has announced plans for a sequel to his directorial debut, ‘Seven Doors’.

Released in December 2024, the six-part miniseries garnered critical acclaim, securing multiple nominations and wins at major Nollywood film events such as the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards and the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

During an appearance on VJ Adams Live, Adebayo discussed his filmmaking process and shared insights into how he prepares for new projects. He explained that he revisits his previous films when working on sequels, watching them closely to identify areas for improvement. “I always watch my movies after they’ve been released, especially when I’m about to produce another one. For example, before making the sequel to ‘Jagun Jagun’, I watched the first installment—same with ‘Ageshinkole’. Now, as I plan the sequel to ‘Seven Doors’, I keep watching the original to see how I can do better,” he said.

Adebayo also emphasized the importance of audience feedback, stating, “I make it a point to read both positive and negative comments on my films because they help me understand what I can improve.”

‘Seven Doors’ achieved significant success in 2025, winning ‘Best Lead Actress’ and ‘Best Lead Actor’ at the AMVCA. At the same year’s BON Awards, the series took home four categories: ‘Best Production Design’, ‘Best Special Effect’, ‘Best Series’, and ‘Best Cinematography’.
