Justin Bieber tests positive for COVID-19 amid world tour

Justin Bieber, the Canadian singer-songwriter, has tested positive for COVID-19 amid his Justice World Tour.

It is understood that the singer tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. Consequently, Bieber’s performance at the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas, earlier billed for Sunday, was moved to the summer.

“Due to positive COVID results within the Justice Tour family, we will unfortunately have to postpone Sunday’s show in Las Vegas,” reads a statement on the venue’s website.

“Justin is of course hugely disappointed, but the health and safety of his crew and fans is always his number one priority. The tour launch in San Diego was a massive success, and Justin is excited to bring this spectacular show to his Las Vegas fans as soon as possible.”

Although his condition is now better, he is expected to continue the tour in Glendale, AZ, on Tuesday before hitting The Forum in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Bieber began the T-Mobile-sponsored 52-dates Justice World Tour 2022 in San Diego on Friday. The tour is expected to run till March 2023 in 88 cities, 28 countries, and five continents.

He kicked off the global tour just a week after Kodak Black, the US rapper, was shot at a Super Bowl after-party he organised in West Hollywood, California.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the rapper and three others were injured during the incident.

A statement from LAPD established that those injured have already been hospitalised, adding that they are in “a stable condition.”

Police also said a preliminary investigation showed the incident happened after a “physical altercation” ensued “between several individuals at the location.”
