Lionel Richie is “doing great” following a cardiac-related health scare that occurred during his tour

Lionel Richie, the legendary American singer and current American Idol judge, has been released from the hospital after a recent health scare in St. Louis, Missouri.

Richie checked himself into a local hospital as a precaution over the weekend, following difficulties completing his concert at the Muny Amphitheatre on Saturday night. He is currently on his ‘Sing a Song All Night Long’ tour.

During the show, Richie reportedly asked for a chair while performing his closing number, ‘All Night Long’, before being admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for cardiac tests and evaluation for mild dehydration.

According to People, the 77-year-old star is now back home in Los Angeles and “doing great.

This incident follows a similar health scare earlier this year in St. Paul, Minnesota, where Richie ended a concert early after feeling dizzy and told the audience, “when you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down.

He postponed two shows on medical advice, but returned to the stage on June 30. Richie’s next scheduled performance is in San Francisco on September 26.
