Liverpool may have just secured Mohamed Salah on a fresh two-year deal worth £400,000 a week, but that’s not stopping them from preparing for the future.
According to The Sun, the Reds are lining up a summer swoop for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, who has been in blistering form this season. The 24-year-old Cameroon international has notched 18 Premier League goals, trailing only Salah, Erling Haaland, and Alexander Isak in the Golden Boot race.
Manager Arne Slot, expected to receive a hefty £200M war chest, reportedly sees Mbeumo as a natural fit for Liverpool’s evolving attack especially with his left-footed threat from the right wing, much like Salah.
It’s believed Mbeumo could cost around £50M, a fee Liverpool might be willing to pay to inject youth and dynamism into their frontline.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are just a heartbeat away from clinching the Premier League title. If they beat Leicester at the King Power on Sunday and Arsenal lose to Ipswich, the championship is theirs.
