As the football season was finishing, Lionel Messi was making deals in the hotel world.
The Argentine star was working with his hotel group MIM Hotels, which he’s owned since 2017, to buy yet another luxury hotel.
His fifth hotel, Casa Canut, is located in Andorra on the famous Carlemany de Escaldes-Engordany and boasts 31 luxurious rooms.
According to Diari D’Andorra, Messi intends to make the hotel one of the best in the country again after the establishment suffered huge losses when the tourism sector took a devastating hit due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Andorra was chosen not just for its proximity to Barcelona, but also for the fact that that the small country attracts thousands of tourists who flock to the ski slopes during winter.
