Aaron Ramsey is set to leave Juventus and return to the Premier League, having had a tough time in Turin since his 2019 free transfer.
A return to Arsenal is one potential option for the midfielder, but there are other Premier League sides interested too. Here comes a look at the three main potential landing spots.
A Ramsey return to Arsenal
This might not be the most likely option, given his high wages, but a reunion is being considered after Ramsey departed the Gunners when his last contract at the Emirates ran down.
Mikel Arteta is trying to build an energetic and youthful team and, although there could be a place for an experienced head like Ramsey, he doesn’t quite fit the profile Arsenal have been looking for of late.
Crossing the North London divide to join Tottenham
If Ramsey doesn’t return to Arsenal, an alternative option could actually be his former club’s rivals Tottenham.
That wouldn’t sit well with Arsenal fans and Ramsey previously replied with a curt “no” when asked in 2018 if he’d ever move to Spurs.
But, Tottenham have expressed an interest in the past and, if he is desperate to return to England no matter what, such a transfer might have to be considered.
Newcastle want Ramsey for their new project.
Newcastle are looking for big names and they have the money to afford more established players on higher wages.
This means Ramsey could be a fit for the Saudi-owned club, arriving at St James’ Park to become a cornerstone of their new project.
