Don Jazzy, the renowned music executive, has clarified that he does not charge artists or filmmakers for promotion, refuting claims that he only endorses projects for a fee.
On Tuesday, Don Jazzy (real name Michael Collins Ajereh) posted a comedy skit in which actor Itele playfully tied him up and pretended to coerce him into promoting the upcoming film ‘Black Market’.
Following the post, an X user identified as Oba Tai Oshomo implied that Don Jazzy’s promotional efforts were financially motivated, writing, “Don Jazzy fit do anything for money.
Don Jazzy responded by firmly rejecting the claim, emphasizing that his support comes without a price tag.
No one in the entertainment industry has ever paid me a single naira for promotion. Do you think I’m called ‘Don’ just for show? The Don’s blessings are free, bro,” he wrote.
Black Market, a Nollywood film, is set to make history by attempting to break the Guinness World Records (GWR) for the largest film screening at a single location.
Produced by Rixel Studios in partnership with FilmOne Studios, Signet Ring Studios, and Switch Visuals Production, the film’s premiere aims to draw an unprecedented crowd of 50,000 attendees—surpassing the current GWR, which stands at over 43,000 viewers in one venue.
The record-breaking event is scheduled for September 26 at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos.
